2008 IL NONNO
“IL NONNO ” – Italian for ‘the Granddaddy’ – old wise, loved, temperamental, respected.
The best of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah grapes from our estate vineyards have been blended to create this intense “Super Tuscan” old world style wine. Moody dark purple in color, the nose fills with earthy aromas of blackberries, cherries, mushrooms and hints of juniper. On the palate it is a powerful well balanced wine reminiscent of old world Italy, with blackberry, cherry and oak flavors followed by a lingering long finish. Enjoy with classic Italian fare such as ossobucco, Florentine steak with tomato sauce or beef braised in garlic and red wine. Only 4 barrels produced.
